Now he has to adjust to his new condition while trying to solve his own murder.

Review: The biggest issue I had with this book, was that it suffered from setup-itis. Its a short book, but it needs to introduce you to the main character, his abilities and limitations, how he came to become a vampire, and the supporting cast. And, on top of all that, we have the main plot of the book to cover.

The main plot ended up feeling a bit rushed to me. While we find out who killed Jack and what the list the bad guys are after is all about, there are other elements introduced that seem a bit neglected, such as scam involving turning mercury into gold. Other than our hero stumbling across it, we never hear anything else about it.

This isn't a bad book, but it could have been a better book.
